Stewardship: our Organization
The Works of Hanna du Plessis stewards Hanna’s creative work into publication and supports the care that makes her continued writing possible.
MISSION AND PURPOSE
We work to get Hanna’s work into the hands and hearts of people who will be served by the lessons of her life. We are guided by Hanna’s intention to equip people to nurture conditions for belonging and co-creation, and to support people to find and sing their song. These themes are woven throughout Hanna’s work:
• We can face life’s complexity. We can lean into it as a creative source.
• We are all invited toward personal liberation.
• We are not in life alone. We are in it together.
• A better world is possible.
We collaborate with the editorial, design, and distribution infrastructure needed to bring Hanna’s work to broad audiences. Revenue from published works supports young Black women in South Africa, honoring Hanna’s roots and values.
GOVERNANCE

Ti Wilhelm (Program Officer, Opportunity Fund) and Sarah Shotland (Assistant Professor of Creative Writing, Carlow University) provide oversight as members of the stewardship committee, ensuring accountability and alignment with Hanna’s intentions.
