When I think back on my school years with Hanna, I remember her joyful spirit and her childlike, deeply sincere relationship with the Lord. She had a beautiful way of trusting God, and so often she inspired me with simple metaphors about what it truly means to lean on Him fully. Life does not always unfold the way we expect. We only see in part. When Hanna became ill, it was around the same time that our eldest son was diagnosed with leukemia. A few months ago, he too exchanged the temporary for the eternal, at 21. The sense of loss can be overwhelming at times, but we comfort ourselves with the hope that this separation is not final, and that we will be reunited again. May we continue to fight the good fight here on earth, in our fragile bodies, making the most of each day and pursuing the things that carry eternal value. Only to live for Christ will last. We followed Hannaโ€™s journey closely and read the many messages of love, encouragement, and support shared by her friends. They speak volumes of who she was and how deeply she was loved. You are truly precious. We are thinking of you and praying for you, knowing that there is a great emptiness โ€” not only in her physical absence, but in your hearts as well. We deeply honour and appreciate the love, care, and devotion you showed Hanna. It mattered. It was seen. And it will not be forgotten
